The Healthy Foods work group supports policy and systems changes to enhance access to healthy foods in Reno County.
CURRENT HEALTHY FOODS TEAM PRIORITIES:
- Expand the ability to use Federally Funded Food assistance in local markets
- Encourage community gardens in Reno County neighborhoods
- Host a Healthy Foods Festival promoting local foods
- Educate and encourage food retailers to sign the Pathways to a Healthy Foods Pledge
- Educate and encourage restaurants to complete a restaurant assessment and adopt healthy strategies and sign the Pathways to a Healthy Restaurant Pledge
